Council prepares submissions to Victorian and Federal Governments and other peak bodies on a range of matters of interest to the Frankston City community. This includes budget submissions to annual budgets on key advocacy initiatives, responses to consultation and submissions to Parliamentary Inquiries.

2022 state election commitments

The state election was held on Saturday 26 November 2022. Paul Edbrooke was re-elected as the Member for Frankston, Sonya Kilkenny was re-elected as Member for Carrum and Paul Mercurio was elected as Member for Hastings. We have removed other candidate’s election commitments as we focus our advocacy on ensuring the state government’s election commitments to Frankston City are delivered. 2022 federal election commitments

The federal election was held on Saturday 21 May 2022, with Peta Murphy being re-elected as the Member for Dunkley. We have removed previous candidate’s election commitments as we focus our advocacy on ensuring the new federal government’s election commitments to Frankston City are delivered. Other Commitments

  • $170,000 election commitment towards an upgrade of Langwarrin Skate Park.
  • $850,000 election commitment for a permanent fit-for-purpose neighbourhood house and gathering place for Nairm Marr Djambana, a culturally-safe gathering place in Frankston that supports the area’s growing First Nations community.
  • $13,000 election commitment to purchase new play equipment for children enrolled in childcare and three-year old kinder at the Langwarrin Community Centre.
  • Election commitment to fund seven new community sectors workers in the Frankston Mornington Peninsula region. These additional workers could help up to 560 women experiencing violence who might otherwise be turned away.
  • Election commitment to deliver a community battery for Carrum Downs.
