Community bus hire

Overview

From 1 May 2026 Council will no longer have a bus suitable for Not-for-Profit/Community Group Hire. 

As part of Council’s recent decision to strengthen and expand our Community Transport and Outings Program, the Mayoral Community Bus will be upgraded and become part of our broader community transport fleet. This change will enable Council to deliver additional trips, outings, and transport support, ensuring a greater number of eligible residents across our municipality can access these valuable services.


Eligibility

To be eligible to hire the community bus, your organisation must:

  • be a non profit organisation operating within Frankston City
  • provide a copy of your Certificate of Incorporation
  • nominate a driver who has a current full Victorian Driver's Licence
  • complete the application and provide a copy of their Driver's Licence before collecting the keys.

Please note that smoking on the bus is not allowed. Buses are not available to be driven to the snow fields. 


Fees

Fee Amount 
Hire fee per day  $145
 Bond  $100

The bus must be returned with a full petrol tank and must be cleaned and washed. 

It is the responsibility of your group to organise a daily E Tag Pass when driving on toll roads.

Completed application forms must be received in full at least 5 working days before the hire date.
