The Frankston Stadium redevelopment is about 60 per cent complete, with Mayor Cr Sue Baker, Deputy Mayor Cherie Wanat and Cr Brad Hill joining State Member for Frankston Paul Edbrooke MP, and Federal Member for Dunkley Jodie Belyea MP, representatives from the Frankston & District Basketball Association (FDBA) and Bayside Gymnastics Club to check out the progress firsthand.
The project is set to become Frankston City's biggest-ever infrastructure project.
You could say this project is really starting to stick the landing!
What’s underway/coming up:
- Roofing, cladding and brickwork façade installation continuing across the exterior
- Structural framing progressing for the front-of-stadium and upper-level spaces, including function rooms, kitchenette, gymnastics mezzanine and administration areas
- Internal works, including floor framing, wall framing and electrical services
- Continued progress on structural, roofing and façade works while completing key facility milestones.
When complete, the redeveloped stadium will feature 10 courts, Frankston City's first dedicated community gymnastics facility, upgraded spectator and event spaces, improved accessibility, and facilities capable of hosting major events. It will provide a new home for FDBA and Bayside Gymnastics Club and create more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in sport.
Up next, we'll continue progressing structural, roofing and façade works while completing key gymnastics facility milestones.
From slam dunks to somersaults, this game-changing project is helping build the future of sport in Frankston City.
Completion is on track for mid-2027!
The project is funded by Council, and the Australian and Victorian Governments.
