Frankston’s favourite summer events set to return

The Frankston Beach Club and Australian Sand Sculpting Championships will return in 2026-27, with the two events expected to draw 56,000 visitors and inject $5.42 million into the local economy.

Frankston City Council confirmed the first stage of its 2026-27 Destination Event Attraction Program (DEAP), with a third event still to be announced.

The Frankston Beach Club will return from late December through to the end of March 2027, running Friday, Saturday, Sunday and selected public holidays. After drawing 20,000 visitors this season, the event is set to once again transform the Frankston foreshore into a premier summer destination.

The Australian Sand Sculpting Championships will run throughout April 2027, building on this year’s attendance of almost 30,000 people. The event brings together world-class artists and visitors from across the country to Frankston’s iconic waterfront.

“The Beach Club and Sand Sculpting Championships have become significant highlights in our summer calendar. Tens of thousands of people come to these events, spend time in our city, and leave with incredible memories,” Frankston City Council Mayor Sue Baker said.

"Frankston is growing its reputation as a top creative and cultural destination, and I couldn't be prouder of what our community has built together.”

Frankston City’s 2026 event calendar is already primed to wow audiences – headlined by the first-ever Frankston Fire Festival in June – and much-loved annual events such as the Waterfront Festival, Frankston Street Art Festival and South Side Festival, and a growing program of recreation and lifestyle events.

Frankston's proximity to Melbourne, combined with its natural assets and vibrant events culture, continues to position the city as one of Victoria's most exciting event destinations.
