Langwarrin Skate Park Stage Two

Lloyd-Park-Skatepark

Council has improved Langwarrin Skate Park so that users from beginner to advanced levels can upgrade their skills close to home and connect with others who share the same interest.

The design was informed by local skater feedback, followed by community engagement in May 2024, which allowed for some design refinements to make sections of the park more challenging for users.

The Stage Two upgrade which was completed and opened officially opened in October 2025 includes:

  • More modern and up-to-date skating features for skaters, skateboarders, bmx bike and scooter riders, from beginner to advanced levels.
  • Wider street area to allow for more riders to join in the fun at the same time, reducing wait times.
  • A bowl platform which was specifically located to avoid impact on existing trees and vegetation.
  • An additional beginner street area to increase overall park capacity and provide a safe space for inexperienced users to learn.
  • A new street tier around the bowl to improve flow and functionality.
  • Revamping the flush obstacle connections with the existing skatepark to create a cohesive park that works together seamlessly.
  • A new quarter pipe in the street section.
  • Stairs and pathway connection to the ramps and amenities (bench seat and water fountain).
  • Design and colour features that pay homage to the local natural environment particularly the Melbourne sand belt.
  • New skate park signage

During the opening Peninsula Leisure Skate Park staff and the Frankston’s Youth Services team kept the good times rolling with free skate lessons, games and a community BBQ.

This is one of several bike and skate parks already in Frankston City, including Overport Park Bike Park, Frankston Skate Park, and Sandfield Reserve Skate Park next to the new youth space in Carrum Downs.

The project was funded by Council in partnership with the Australian Government Investing in Our Communities Program and built upon works during Stage One Skate Park Upgrade, which included a new shelter and drinking fountain.
