Media statement: Fire at the Frankston Visitor Information Centre

Frankston City Council is aware that a fire occurred at the Frankston Visitor Information Centre on Pier Promenade, Frankston, on Sunday 13 September 2026.  
   
Emergency services responded and brought the fire under control. Thankfully, no one was injured.  
   
The building has been secured, and an investigation is underway. We ask community members to avoid the immediate area and follow the directional signage.  
   
Public toilets near the affected building have been temporarily closed. The closest available public toilets are located along Pier Promenade.  

If you witnessed the incident or have any information that may assist with the investigation, we encourage you to contact Victoria Police.
