Go green at Council’s Indigenous Nursery Open Day

Published on 18 March 2021

Frankston City Council’s Indigenous Nursery will be bursting with bargains and festive fun at an Open Day on Saturday, 27 March from 9am to 1pm.

South Ward Cr Claire Harvey urged locals and visitors to drop in and check out the wide range of activities on offer.

“There will be fun for all the family with special guest ecologist, Dr Luis Mata, talking about the importance of insects in our urban environment and how we can attract them to our gardens.

“There will be interactive and informative displays from AWARE Wildlife, our wildlife rescue warriors, local wildlife gurus Living with Wildlife, Frankston's Natural Reserve Friends groups and Gardens for Wildlife volunteers,” Cr Harvey said.

Cr Harvey said the Lions Club of Frankston will cook up a free barbecue and there will also be plant sales, giveaways, a nursery tour and propagation workshop, pollinator count and fun activities for the kids.

“Places may be limited in some of the tours and workshop to maintain safe COVID distancing. To help run a safe day at the nursery, we ask people to register details if they’re attending,” Cr Harvey said.

Council’s Indigenous Nursery is at 32R McMannis Way (off McCulloch Ave), Seaford. To register for the Open Day, please visit https://bit.ly/3r1mXEk
