Frankston City residents have indicated they feel more supported and more positive about the direction of their city and have recorded the lowest concern about community safety on record, as Council achieved its strongest performance, with record-high community satisfaction in the 2026 Annual Community Satisfaction Survey.

The independent survey of more than 800 residents shows record satisfaction across customer service, Council services, governance and planning, while overall satisfaction with Council reached 7.2 out of 10, its highest level since the survey began.

Frankston City Council Mayor Sue Baker said the results reflected an organisation that is listening to the community, acting on feedback and delivering tangible outcomes.

"These results tell us that residents can see the difference being made across Frankston City," Mayor Baker said.

"They are telling us they feel better served by Council, more connected to decision-making and more confident in the direction our city is heading.

"Over the past year we've continued to advocate strongly for our community, invest in local services and facilities, improve the customer experience and focus on making Frankston City cleaner, safer and more vibrant.

“Just as importantly, we’ve strengthened the way we engage with our community, so residents have more opportunities to influence the decisions that affect them. These results suggest people are increasingly feeling heard.

"While there is always more work to do, it's encouraging to see residents recognising those efforts and the positive changes taking place throughout our municipality."

The survey found significant improvements across a range of measures that reflect Council's focus on listening and delivering for the community, including:

  • Customer service satisfaction increased to a record 8.3 out of 10
  • Satisfaction with Council services and facilities increased to 8.1
  • Satisfaction with governance and leadership increased to 7.6
  • Satisfaction with planning and development increased to 7.9
  • Satisfaction with community consultation and engagement increased to 7.5
  • Trust and confidence in Council increased to 7.6
  • Satisfaction with Council's advocacy, lobbying and representation increased to 7.6
  • Satisfaction with Council's efforts to improve Frankston City's image and reputation increased to 7.8

The survey also highlighted a significant shift in community perceptions of safety.

Residents reported feeling safer across public spaces throughout Frankston City, while concern about crime and safety issues declined substantially compared with 2025.

Perceptions of safety in Frankston City reached their highest levels since records began, reflecting Council's ongoing investment in community safety initiatives, advocacy and partnerships.

Frankston City Council CEO Tennille Bradley said the results demonstrate the value of listening and responding to community feedback.

"The survey shows residents are recognising the improvements being made across our city and the work Council is doing to advocate for the community and deliver better outcomes," Ms Bradley said.

"Importantly, the results also help us identify where we need to continue improving. Community feedback plays a critical role in shaping our priorities and ensuring we continue to deliver the services, infrastructure and support our residents expect.

“Every piece of community feedback helps shape our priorities, our advocacy and the decisions we make. We thank everyone who took the time to participate.”

The 2026 Annual Community Satisfaction Survey was conducted independently and surveyed 800 Frankston City residents in person.
