DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the collection of donated perishable and non-perishable food items.
  • Provide support with the sorting and safe packaging of perishable foods (such as fruit, vegetables and bread items).
  • Provide support with the sorting and safe storing of non-perishable foods (such as tinned and dry goods).
  • Abide by safe food handling policies and procedures when involved with the manual handling of food items.
  • Assist with the dating and alternative packaging of food items (such as eggs).
  • Consult with the Operations Team and Manager when in doubt of any task.
  • Maintain an enthusiastic, cooperative and friendly approach when working with agency staff, volunteers and any members of the public.
  • Assist with appropriate disposal of perishable food waste.
  • Be prepared to undertake a safe food handling course.
  • Assist with pricing items (rough estimates) for CSFs internal record keeping of in-kind food donations.
  • Be aware of and adhere to all of CSFs policies and procedures.
  • Abide by CSFs Code of Conduct, represent CSF in a professional manner when dealing with food suppliers and other stakeholders.
