Frankston Planning Scheme Review

The Frankston Planning Scheme sets out policies and requirements for the use, development and protection of land within Frankston City.

Every four years, Council undertakes a review of the Frankston Planning Scheme within 12 months of the adoption of the Council Plan, a legislative requirement under Section 12B of Planning and Environment Act 1987 and Section 89 (2)e of the Local Government Act 2020.

This is to ensure that the Frankston Planning Scheme is kept up to date, is able to respond to emerging planning issues and challenges and is an effective decision-making tool.

The Planning Scheme Review is underway, with a planning scheme amendment anticipated for 2027.
