National Tree Day for Schools
Schools Tree Day 2026 – Registrations are now Closed
Each year Frankston City supports kindergartens, pre-schools, primary and secondary schools in our municipality to improve their natural environment by providing free indigenous plants for Schools Tree Day on Friday the 24th of July 2026 to enhance the natural environment for increased biodiversity and better outdoor learning opportunities, including more nature play.
Successful applicants for our Environmental Ambassador Program will be contacted with further information in the coming months.
Thank you to all centres and schools who applied for free plants for Schools Tree Day 2026 we are now getting ready to deliver 12,000 indigenous plants in July.

Looking Back: Schools Tree Day 2025
Schools Tree Day 2025 was held on Friday 25 July, with:
- Over 5,000 students
- 54 participating centres and schools
- 2,700 indigenous plants planted across Frankston City
The two Environmental Ambassador Schools for 2025 were Karingal Primary School and Mt Erin College. Students at both schools took part in engaging wildlife education sessions led by Janet Wheeler from Living with Wildlife, focusing on caring for local fauna.
