You will need a permit to plant or beautify a nature strip directly outside of your property. This may include:
- removing a tree
- ground levelling.
Your proposed design will need to demonstrate that it enhances the overall character of your neighbourhood and does not interfere with access or public safety. Some items are not permitted on nature strips including rocks, artificial turf, edgings, letter boxes, water features and trees.
We encourage residents to choose low growing native or indigenous plants that are local to the area. View our Indigenous Plant Guide for more information.
Permits can only be issued to the owner of the property. We prefer you submit your application online.
If you're unable to apply online, you can apply via email, mail or in person.
