Retail Shop Assistant

Volunteers will be checklist trained to specific tasks.  With the variety of roles existing within a community charity there is something for everyone.  We operate on a strength based approached empowering one another to move forward while expanding your knowledge base and skill sets.  

food pantry staff work with the community by appointment and provide customer service by allocating food.  Stock replenishment, recording of fridge / freezer temperatures and maintaining the rotation and presentation of all storage areas is required.  Various shifts available.

Cleaning- general duties involve sweeping/vacuuming, mopping, maintaining cleanliness of bathroom areas, cleaning glass doors/windows, spot cleaning as it presents. 

shop assistants would be responsible for stock rotation of and general maintenance of retail areas.

Bulk packaging of food items involved working within a checklist as to portion and packaging control.  Food handlers' certificate is expected however we can help you obtain one.

Team Leader positions are available to qualified candidates- duties involve managing a team of volunteers by delegating necessary tasks, using a cash register and putting all sales through, customer service and end of day balancing and finishing off.

Food Stock sorting and rotation will involve maintaining our food storage HUB in an organized and efficient manner.  Also responsible to delegate and train others to maintain an efficient rotation process.

Sorting and pricing volunteers are responsible to sort through acceptable sale items, allocate and price to be put out on the floor for sale, redress mannequins and preferably have a retail flare.
