Mayor Kris Bolam JP FAIM has been a resident of Frankston City for more than 20 years, and been involved in the community for the majority of this time.
Mayor Bolam was first elected to Frankston City Council in 2008 and served until 2012 in the North-West Ward.
Mayor Bolam is the youngest Mayor (2010-2011) and Deputy Mayor (2011-2012) in the municipal history of Frankston. He was also the youngest Justice of the Peace in Victorian history, following his appointment in 2008.
Following his decision not to contest the 2012 Frankston City Council election, Mayor Bolam joined Victoria Police as a sworn Protective Services Officer (First Class). Mayor Bolam has also served on a number of community boards and was recognised as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management in 2015.
In 2016 Mayor Bolam was again elected to Frankston City Council, and was the only former Councillor to be re-elected in 2020.
Mayor Bolam has raised the most business of any Councillor, having accrued more than 235 Notices of Motion in his two non-consecutive terms.
Mayor Bolam holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Politics and Policy Studies, a Bachelor of International Studies with a double major in International Relations and Middle East Studies, a Master of Business Administration and a Graduate Diploma in Management.
The Mayor’s priorities include good governance reforms, new and upgraded infrastructure throughout the municipality, and ensuring that Frankston bounces back after what has been a volatile and challenging twelve months due to the global pandemic.
