Overport Park Pavilion Redevelopment

Large growth in the number of female participants in football and cricket in general, and at Overport Park specifically, has led to the need for female compliant amenities within sports pavilions servicing AFL and cricket.

The new Overport Park Pavilion will replace the existing pavilion, toilet block and carpark. The new pavilion will provide modern and compliant facilities to support male and female participation in AFL and cricket among other sports

Construction commenced in late December 2018 with completion scheduled for February 2020.

There will be some impacts on park users and access during the construction of the pavilion, including limited access to the public toilet during this period.

Overport Park is currently an important reserve for the community and sporting groups. It supports the second largest tennis and junior football clubs in the municipality, one of the largest cricket clubs in the area and two arts-based community organisations.

Development of Overport Park has been guided by the 2000 Master Plan however recent proposals for the sports facilities have also been driven by the 2013 Frankston City Council Sports Development Plan.

Total project budget of $4.6M is primarily made up of Council Rates with contributions from the Victorian Government and Local Sports Clubs.
