Frankston Charitable Fund

Frankston Charitable Fund is a charitable fund account of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation. It was established in 2009 to build capital and generate interest and dividends that provide funding. This funding supports the work of Frankston City charities through a grants program. 

The Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation is responsible for investing, managing and preserving the fund capital in perpetuity.

Committee of Management

The Frankston Charitable Fund Committee of Management includes Council and community representatives who advise and make granting recommendations to the Board of Management of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Fund. 

Frankston City Council appointed 3 community representatives on the Frankston Charitable Fund Committee 2021-2024 at its Ordinary Meeting on 30 August 2021. These are honorary positions for community members who live or work in Frankston City.

Grants program

We will advertise details about the 2022-23 grant program closer to date. 

Frankston Charitable Fund Grants supports programs and projects that:

  • are delivered within Frankston  
  • work to improve quality of life by increasing life opportunities and social inclusion. 

Funding is available annually to Frankston City charities with:

  • Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status as covered by Item 1 in the section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth)
  • endorsement as a Taxation Concession Charity (TCC).

Operation Larder $13,312 to provide non-perishable food and person hygiene items to CSF to maintain their inventory stock levels
Miscarriage Information Support Service
$11,312 to provide resources to improve mental health outcomes after miscarriage
Theodora House
$8,312 to provide meals to families and individuals in the local community who are enduring financial hardship
Project Creativity
$6,312 to deliver an art program working with disadvantaged young people to use fine art to create various art projects
Donation Chain $3,512 to provide dry socks, shoes and wound care to people experiencing homelessness or crisis to treat feet conditions such as trench foot and athlete’s foot

All donations to the Frankston Charitable Fund are managed by the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation and proceeds are allocated locally through the Grants Program.

Workplace giving

You may choose to take part in a workplace-giving program through your employer and direct your donations to the Frankston Charitable Fund.

Workplace giving donations are deducted from your salary before tax, potentially reducing your taxable income. That means you receive a tax benefit immediately rather than having to wait until the end of the financial year. Contact your Payroll Officer to find out if you are eligible.
