Frankston Charitable Fund

One-off funding available to assist eligible charitable organisations for innovative programs and projects that work to improve quality of life by increasing life opportunities and social inclusion in Frankston City.

There are four grant categories as follows:

  • Aged and Disability
  • Families & Young People
  • Education, Employment and Learning
  • Health and Wellbeing (including welfare, emergency relief, housing and animal welfare)

Key principles guiding the funding decisions are:

  • Community strengthening through collaboration and partnerships
  • Placed-based solutions to local issues
  • Contribution to community capacity and sustainability
  • Broad community impact and involvement
  • Focus on prevention and early intervention

Funding is available annually to charities that:

  • Have Deductable Gift Recipient (DGR) status as covered by Item 1 in the section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth)
  • Have Endorsement as a Taxation Concession Charity (TCC)
  • Providing a service / program within the Frankston Local Government Area

View the 2021-22 Frankston Charitable Fund grant recipients: 

Organisation Funding purpose 
Operation Larder $13,312 to provide non-perishable food and person hygiene items to CSF to maintain their inventory stock levels
Miscarriage Information Support Service
$11,312 to provide resources to improve mental health outcomes after miscarriage
Theodora House
$8,312 to provide meals to families and individuals in the local community who are enduring financial hardship
Project Creativity
$6,312 to deliver an art program working with disadvantaged young people to use fine art to create various art projects
Donation Chain $3,512 to provide dry socks, shoes and wound care to people experiencing homelessness or crisis to treat feet conditions such as trench foot and athlete’s foot

All donations to the Frankston Charitable Fund are managed by the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation and proceeds are allocated locally through the Grants Program.

Workplace giving

You may choose to take part in a workplace-giving program through your employer and direct your donations to the Frankston Charitable Fund.

Workplace giving donations are deducted from your salary before tax, potentially reducing your taxable income. That means you receive a tax benefit immediately rather than having to wait until the end of the financial year. Contact your Payroll Officer to find out if you are eligible.
