Frankston City Council has relaunched its Transparency Hub, making it easier than ever for our community to see how Council works and access the information that matters most.

Launched in 2018, this industry leading transparency initiative has grown into a one-stop shop for Council decisions, data and insights. The latest upgrade brings a fresh, user-friendly design that helps residents stay informed, engaged and connected with Frankston City Council.

Councillor Cr Brad Hill JP said the Transparency Hub is all about building trust and strengthening the connection between Council and the community.

“We want our community to have clear, accessible information about how Council operates and how our decisions impact local lives. This upgraded Hub makes data easier to understand, more meaningful, and more engaging,” Councillor Hill said.

What’s new?

  • Faster updates, so the community gets the latest information quickly
  • Interactive maps, dashboards and “data stories” that turn complex information into simple, engaging insights
  • A searchable data catalogue that makes finding information easier
  • All data consolidated on Council’s website for simple, consistent access

Datasets on the Transparency Hub range from awarded contracts, consultancy expenditure and major project status, to parking infringement numbers, officer remuneration and community satisfaction performance.

The Hub also includes a detailed view of Councillor-related matters, including attendance at meetings and briefings, expenses data, and conflict of interest and gift declaration registers.

Council will continue to add datasets over the next 12 months, including graffiti, cultural diversity, health and wellbeing and planning applications data.

The upgrade is a key part of Council’s ongoing commitment to transparent and accountable government. Earlier this month, Council published data showing that the number of reports discussed in closed council meetings, where the public is unable to attend, has fallen from 28% in 2018-2019 down to just under 2% in 2024-2025.

“These initiatives are all about building greater trust in the community. With more decision-making and operational information available to the public, the community can have greater confidence in how their Council is being run.”

The upgraded Transparency Hub is now live at frankston.vic.gov.au/TransparencyHub.
