Cr Kris Bolam JP FIML GAICD has been a resident of Frankston City for more than 20 years, and been involved in the community for the majority of this time.

Cr Bolam was first elected to Frankston City Council in 2008 and served until 2012 in the North-West Ward.

Cr Bolam is the youngest Mayor (2010-2011) and was the youngest Deputy Mayor (2011-2012) in the municipal history of Frankston. He was also the youngest Justice of the Peace in Victorian history, following his appointment in 2008. 

Following his decision not to contest the 2012 Frankston City Council election, Cr Bolam joined Victoria Police as a sworn Protective Services Officer (First Class). Cr Bolam, in this time, also served on a number of community boards; and was recognised as a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

In 2016 Cr Bolam was again elected to Frankston City Council, and was the only former councillor to be re-elected in 2020. He was again elected Mayor for 2020-2021.

Cr Bolam has raised the most business of any councillor, having accrued more than 235 Notices of Motion in his two non-consecutive terms.

In addition to his councillor duties, Cr Bolam is a Board Member of the Municipal Association of Victoria and Laneway Learning

Cr Bolam holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Politics and Policy Studies, a Bachelor of International Studies with a double major in International Relations and Middle East Studies, a Master of Business Administration and a Graduate Diploma in Management.

Cr Bolam’s priorities include good governance reforms, new and upgraded infrastructure throughout the municipality, and ensuring Frankston gets its fair share of State and Federal funding.
