Residents from Seaford, Langwarrin and Frankston Central/Heights are invited to take part in local launch events aimed at bringing people together from their suburbs.
Locals will have the chance to learn about an exciting new project in their backyard, and will have the opportunity to be part of the working group which makes it happen.
Mayor of Frankston Cr Colin Hampton said the aim of ‘Love where you Live’ is to connect people from each local area to work on a shared project that builds local pride.
“This is a great way to get involved with your local community. In some cases you might meet your neighbours for the first time, or just want to get involved improving where you live, but don’t know how to go about it” said Cr Hampton.
‘Love where you Live’ is a series of local area projects throughout the City over the next 18 months, with each area bringing a different project to life.
Each project builds on what the local community said during Council’s ‘Think Big’ community consultation. The working groups will be supported by Council with a small budget and two staff members.
“I would encourage anyone who is interested in being in involved in their local community to come along to a launch event to see what it is all about. They are a casual and friendly way to get to know others in your community. You can choose to either be part of the working group, or to just stay up to date with what is happening” added Cr Hampton.
