Frantastic Food Safety Awards
Each year, Council’s Frantastic Food Safety Awards program provides local food businesses with the opportunity to showcase their commitment to providing customers with the safest possible food.
Council recognises that food proprietors must be supported to implement the requirements of the Victorian Food Act 1984.
The program provides medium and high-risk food businesses (Class 1 and 2) with an overview of their performance against best practice standards by incentivising and rewarding excellence in food safety.
As part of a food businesses annual food safety inspection and assessment, the Environmental Health Officer will determine whether the food business receives a Frantastic Food Safety Award.
Frantastic Food Safety Awards will only be presented to food businesses considered excellent operators and leaders within our local food industry.
Recipients of a Frantastic Food Safety Award also:
- Receive a Frantastic Food Safety Award certificate and window sticker to display in their business
- Are considered for inclusion in various Council publications
- Be nominated for the Frantastic Food Safety Excellence Award, the top recognition for outstanding food safety across the entire municipality
