Council is inviting residents to have their say on redevelopment plans for Frankston City’s premier regional park and sporting precinct at Ballam Park.
To complement the popular new playground for older children and Ballam Park South Pavilion, Council has developed plans for an exciting $3.4 million redevelopment of the precinct. Highlights include:
- Improved entrances and car parking along Cranbourne Road
- New car parking adjacent to the dog agility park
- Public art sculptures
- Improved pathways
- Adventure play precinct (junior playground)
- Water play
- Sports terrace (sloped grass seating to view sports playing fields)
- Ballam Bowl (picnic lawn and sloped grass for events)
- Homestead gardens
- Picnic lawns and shelters
The Ballam Park precinct is home to playgrounds for all ages, the historic Ballam Park Homestead, sporting clubs, Ballam Park Scout Group, a dog agility park and vast walking paths.
Frankston City Council Mayor, Sandra Mayer, said the redevelopment would build on this terrific asset.
“The Ballam Park precinct will become an even bigger drawcard for visitors and locals when this redevelopment is complete. We’ll even have a bowl to host outdoor performances,” Cr Mayer said.
“Due to the Coronavirus pandemic we are unable to hold in-person information sessions at the moment so jump online to view the plans, complete our survey and have your say.”
