Move over St Valentine because 14 February is also Library Lovers’ Day and Frankston City Libraries is celebrating with an appearance by romance author, Rachel Givney’s to discuss her new novel, Jane in Love.
Frankston City Libraries Manager, Tammy Goodwin, said Library Lovers Day was a great opportunity to try something new.
“We’re very excited to have Rachel Givney joining us for a meet and greet to discuss her new romance novel, Jane in Love, just in time for Library Lovers Day,” said Ms Goodwin.
“While you’re here meeting Rachel and getting your copy of her book signed, why not go on a blind date with a book, perhaps a double date and tell us which was better – the book or the movie.
“Bring your bestie or loved one and make sure you grab a selfie with our fun selfie wall.”
Rachel Givney’s Jane in Love has Jane Austen time-travelling to the future where she falls in love. But will she choose happiness in the present, or her career as a writer in the past?
Choose Library Lovers’ Day to reconnect with your local library and share the library love.
“Libraries aren’t what they used to be. The library has evolved into a social space to meet, collaborate, research, learn, share and relax,” added Ms Goodwin.
“At Frankston City Libraries we host workshops, well known authors, bookclubs, we’ve got our Book and Bean Café and live music. It’s no longer a place you’ll be shooshed.
“Not everyone can afford to buy all the books or resources they need and want. They are free to borrow – whether that is wifi, an ebook, an audiobook, a DVD, CD or one of our many other resources.”
Frankston City Libraries presents Rachel Givney for a FREE on Friday 14 February at 10am at Frankston Library.
This event is FREE but bookings are essential via library.frankston.vic.gov.au/Whats_On or 9784 1020.
