Frankston Civic Centre Green Wall

Location: Frankston Civic Centre, Davey Street, Frankston

Description of works:  Installation of the Green Wall Infrastructure including the steel beam & mesh installation followed by planting.

Timing of works: 22 August to 30 September 2019 Between 7.30am to 4.00pm 

Disruption Expected: Please note the site will be accessed via Young Street, the Western façade of the building, only when the actual installation works are taking place for two to three days between the dates stated above.

Polaris Playground Upgrade

Location: Polaris Reserve, 20R Sherbourne Dve, Carrum Downs

Description of works:  The scope of works includes but are not limited to:

  • Demolition
  • Site prep & earthworks
  • Play equipment installation
  • Playground under surfacing
  • Paving
  • Drainage
  • Grassing
  • Planting
  • Landscaping
  • Rock and Timber works
  • Park Furniture

Timing of Works: Site work will be commenced on 26th August 2019 with construction anticipated to be completed by October 2019, subject to weather and site conditions.

Disruption Expected: Site, Traffic and Pedestrian Management will be in place for the entire duration of works to maintain public safety. Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience however there may be some minor disturbance to residents during this time. 

Ballam Park Reserve Water Supply Interruption

Description of works: Water pipe tapping to main water pipe for new Ballam Park Soccer Pavilion.

Water supply interruption to the affected public toilet and drinking fountains. The public toilet will be closed down on Monday 9 September.  

Timing of works: Monday 9 September to Tuesday 10 September 2019.

Ballam Park South West Soccer Pitch Reconstruction and Car Park Works

Description of works: The scope of works includes but are not limited to:

  • Demolition of existing infrastructure ie light poles & cricket wicket
  • Site prep & earthworks
  • Installation of new irrigation system and new subsurface drainage system
  • Installation of synthetic turf centre cricket wicket
  • Installation of soccer goals, oval fencing and instant turf

Timing of works: Site work will be commence in late August 2019 with construction anticipated to be completed mid December 2019 subject to weather and site conditions. Car Park upgrades are due for February.

Disruption expected: Site and Pedestrian Management will be in place for the entire duration of works to maintain public safety. Traffic Management in place for the duration of the project. Parts of the car park will be inaccessible during the soccer pitch reconstruction and the car park works.

Ballam Park Works  

Seaford Lifesaving Club North Picnic Area - Upgrade

Location: 10N Nepean Hwy, Seaford

Description of works: The scope of works includes but are not limited to:

  • Demolition
  • Site prep & earthworks
  • Construction of new pavements Inc. Granitic gravel ,exposed concrete and asphalt
  • Installation of furniture
  • Construction of timber fencing
  • Installation of vehicle boom gate
  • Construction of garden beds and mulching

Timing of Works: Site work will be commenced on 24 June 2019 with construction anticipated to be completed August 2019 subject to weather and site conditions.

Disruption Expected: Site and Pedestrian Management will be in place for the entire duration of works to maintain public safety. Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience however there may be some minor disturbance to residents and park usurer’s during this time.

Seaford North Reserve Precinct Playground Upgrade 

Description of works: Scope of works include, but are not limited to: demolition works, earthworks, concrete and drainage, furniture installation, playground equipment installation, grassing and planting.

Timing: Works commenced 7 May 2019, with completion early August.

Disruption expected:  Minor delays can be expected during construction activity on Railway Parade. Site, traffic and pedestrian management will be in place for the entire duration of works to maintain public safety. Every effort will be made to minimise inconvenience.

Overport Park - Sports Pavilion and Oval Upgrade

Description of Works: Frankston City Council in partnership with the Victorian Government is developing an exciting new sports pavilion and upgrades to Oval 2. Key features will include:

  • Female-friendly change rooms
  • Unisex umpire facilities
  • Community room, kitchen and amenities
  • Public toilets and new car parks
  • Oval 2 refurbishment including irrigation and drainage and fencing

Timing of Works:

  • Oval reconstruction: August to December 2018
  • Pavilion construction: October 2018 to December 2019

Frankston Line Crossings managed by Level Crossing Removal Authority

Works Commencing: November 2015

Duration of Works: Ongoing for the next eight years

Location: Various locations along the Frankston Line

The upgrade of Frankston Station is expected to start in autumn 2018.

Description of Works: Removing 50 dangerous and congested level crossings will transform the way people live, work and travel across metropolitan Melbourne and improve safety for drivers and pedestrians

Disruptions Expected: Buses will replace trains during some stages and nearby car parking areas may also be restricted.
