Seaford enthusiasts can walk and talk all things Seaford at a free community event on November 16.
The Love Where You Live - Stories of Seaford Walk and Talk is being hosted by The Love Where You Live working group, in partnership with Frankston City Council.
The day will involve three different walks, starting at midday and finishing at 1pm, at the Seaford Community Centre.
A barbecue and activities including, face-painting, stalls, demonstrations and entertainment from acoustic duo Times Like These will follow.
Seaford resident and working group member Karen Doyle said she was looking forward to the day.
“We love where we live and want to share our beautiful community, from Belvedere to the beach, with others,” Ms Doyle said.
“The Stories of Seaford day will give you a chance to connect with the amazing groups and people who make it a friendly place to live. It will be a lot of fun.”
Ms Doyle said there would be opportunities for sharing stories quietly and in public, and for sharing photographs and writing stories to accompany them.
On the day, residents can choose from three walks:
- The Trail the Creek Walk, with the Kananook Creek Association, which starts at the Seaford Community Centre.
- The Downs Estate and Wetlands Walk, which begins at the Downs Estate.
- The Suburban Soul Walk, with the Belvedere Community Centre team, which is a walk through Belvedere.
Outgoing Mayor Michael O’Reilly said the Love Where You Live events were all part of community strengthening initiatives aimed to bring locals together.
“You can learn more about the place you live and connect with new people in your community,” he said.
“If you live, work or play in Seaford, come along and share your Seaford story, big or small.”
