Proposed Bayport Reserve Playground Upgrade

Council has funding in the 2018/19 financial year capital works program to undertake improvement works at Bayport Reserve in Langwarrin. This program focuses on upgrading existing, or providing new playground facilities for residents in local communities to make better use of local parks.

Currently, Bayport Reserve provides a small space for children’s games, play equipment including challenging agility tracks, a quiet shaded spot with mature trees, an area for walking the dog and an access to other areas via a connecting pathway. The reserve needs an upgrade to improve its play space facilities and surrounding landscape.

We have created newly designed plans to improve the facilities at the park within an allocated budget which includes:

  • Sand play area
  • Social gathering place with single shelter, picnic tables and drinking fountain
  • Timber rope climb structure
  • Bicycle parking
  • Seating and shaded areas, and additional vegetation.

Have your say

Residents have until 5pm Wednesday 12 September 2018 to have their say on the proposed design plans, available via the Related Documents section of this page.

Please note that the expected playground construction will take place during the 2018/19 financial year. This plan is the scope area and concept design, therefore some elements may change through the design and development phase.
