Draft Procurement Policy 2019–2020

Council is seeking feedback on the Draft Procurement Policy 2019–2020, which will guide Council's procurement processes for the next 12 months.

Revisions to the policy include:

  • Clarify the role and accountabilities of Councillors’ and Officers’ in approving the award of a tender. Including;

    - The importance of panel members undertaking an evaluation against the evaluation criteria.

    - The options available to an approver on endorsing or rejecting a tender panel recommendation.

  • Highlighting the importance of undertaking risk analysis’ throughout a tender evaluation and the importance of recording comments regarding any particular tender submission.

The update meets the obligation under the Local Government Act to undertake an annual review of Council’s Procurement Policy.
