Draft Municipal Early Years Action Plan
The Frankston City Council Municipal Early Years Plan (2021-2025) (MEYP) is Council’s strategic plan for how we will work in partnership with government, services and the community over the next four years to build positive outcomes for children aged 0-6 years and their families.
This partnership approach is supported by the 10-year Supporting Children and Families in the Early Years – Compact (2017-2027) between Department of Education and Training (DET), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Local Government (represented by the Municipal Association of Victoria [MAV]), which emphasises the importance of a whole of government approach to providing child friendly, accessible settings and services to promote positive growth and development for our children and future generations.
The MEYP will ensure that Council is well placed to facilitate positive outcomes for young children and their families in local communities, by providing strategic direction for the planning, coordination and delivery of early years’ programs, activities and services, whilst also delivering improved social, economic, and safety outcomes for the community.
