Draft Council Financial Policies - Community Consultation

The Guarantee of Community Loans policy was originally adopted in 2013 to provide a framework within which Council may consider agreeing to act as a Guarantor for loans taken out by community groups to improve/redevelop facilities. The Loan Borrowing Policy was originally adopted in 2006 to provide a framework within which Council may consider the use of debt to fund projects and allow Council’s vision contained in its plan to be attained, while at the same time not compromising Council’s long term financial viability.

Council proposes to make various amendments to the existing Policies, to ensure that Council financial assets are well managed and support outcomes of financial sustainability.  Copies of the proposed updated policies are available from the Civic Centre during office hours or via the link below.

Any person may make a written submission to the proposed new Policies.

All submissions received on or before 9 September 2019 will be considered and included as part of the Council Report that will be presented to Council at its Ordinary Meeting on Monday 23 September 2019.
