Draft Conflict of Interest Policy

Council proposes to adopt a Conflict of Interest Policy (Policy). The Policy provides guidance on the specific circumstances that give rise to a conflict of interest and clarifies the types of interests that constitute a conflict of interest, the process that must be followed and the consequences or actions that may be taken for failing to comply with the requirements of the Local Government Act 2020.

Copies of the proposed Policy is available from the Civic Centre during office hours by appointment only. To facilitate compliance with COVID-19 social distancing requirements, any person who wishes to obtain a hard copy is encouraged to request that it be posted to them. Requests can be made through Council’s Live Chat service, via the homepage of Council’s website, or by phoning 1300 322 322.

Any person may make a written submission to the Policy. All submissions received on or before Wednesday 2 December 2020 will be considered and included as part of the Council Report that will be presented to Council at its meeting on Monday 14 December 2020.
