Impacted Council Facilities

Due to the evolving situation surrounding COVID-19 and the announcements by Federal and State Government regarding public health and safety, Council facilities may be affected over the coming weeks:

Frankston Library

Our libraries are closed until 13 April inclusive. This include Frankston, Seaford and Carrum Downs. While physical locations are closed, online resources are available 24/7 including Story Box Library for the kids, eBooks and eAudiobooks. Please visit the Frankston Libraries website.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

All Library programming and scheduled events have been cancelled until 13 April. 

Frankston City Council recommends residents exercise social distancing when in public areas.

Frankston Arts Centre

All Frankston Arts Centre programming and scheduled events have been cancelled until 13 April. 

All ticket buyers for shows between Monday 16 March to Monday 13 April will be contacted and refunded.

Frankston Visitor Information Centre

Ballam Park Homestead

The Treasure Chest Resale Shop

Currently closed to the public until further notice.

Frankston Indigenous Nursery

Currently closed however will take phone or email orders from Monday 6 April 2020. Find out more.

Community Centres

In response to the declaration of a State of Emergency in Victoria and int he interest of public safety and community reassurance, Frankston City Council-run community centres and youth services will close as of midnight Tuesday, 17 March until further notice.

These include:

  • Frankston North Community Centre
  • Frankston South Community and Recreation Centre
  • Ebdale Community Hub and Learning Centre
  • Karingal PLACE Neighbourhood Centre (with the exception of essential Maternal and Child Health services – see note below)
  • Youth Central and other youth services

Community Halls

Non-essential programs and events hosted in Council-owned community halls will be cancelled until 19 April 2020. During this time, applications for future hall hire will not be accepted.

RSL's

Following the RSL Victoria consultation, the physical ANZAC Day services have been cancelled across the state.

The Seaford RSL at this stage look as though they will live stream the Melbourne service. Details of this will be provided as they are determined. 

The Frankston RSL are planning to stream/create their own online service which is a more localised version than the Melbourne service

Peninsula Aquatic and Recreation Centre (PARC)

Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC) and the Pines Forest Aquatic Centre will be closed until further notice

Frankston Memorial Park

A maximum of 10 person attendee information for families arranging and attending funeral services at this time. Learn more (288KB).

Frankston Park

Frankston Park is temporarily closed to the public due to ongoing issues with vagrancy and vandalism at the site.

Public toilet facilities are available at nearby Beauty Park and the Frankston Foreshore.

Beaches

Closed from until further notice, following advice from the Victorian Government to reduce the spread of Covid-19. Council will continue to do everything in its power to slow the spread of this virus, including restricting beach access.

Beach car parks and boardwalks remain open at this time, however their access will be reviewed as the need arises. 

Skate Parks

Closed from until further notice, following stage 3 restrictions by the Victorian Government to slow the spread of Covid-19.

Playgrounds

Closed from until further notice, following stage 3 restrictions by the Victorian Government to slow the spread of Covid-19.
