Ho, ho, ho … it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas with a range of Yuletide activities and offerings to celebrate the festive season.

Mayor Nathan Conroy said: “If you can hear those sleigh bells ringing, it means Santa Claus is coming to town and Frankston’s Magical Christmas is not too far away! Experience the magic and fun from 27 November to 24 December with something for everyone.

“Sing along to all of your favourite Christmas songs at the carols on Saturday 18 December at the Frankston Football Oval. Make sure you get in early to secure your free tickets to this event as this is one you don’t want to miss.

“If Christmas movies are more your style grab your picnic rug and popcorn for the pop up outdoor cinemas every Friday and Saturday night from Friday 3 – Friday 17 December, in various locations around Frankston City. With kids under 12 free and $5 for those over 12 redeemable onsite at our food vendors, this is the perfect night out for the whole family.”

Tickets for these events are available on the Discover Frankston website now.

Don’t forget to grab your gifts at the local markets, stop by Seaford Library for outdoor Storytime and wear your reindeer ears for some yoga in the park fun.

“There will also be plenty more Christmas activities and competitions to celebrate the festive season. It is after all, the most wonderful time of the year. Stay tuned as more details are announced in the coming weeks,” Mayor Conroy said.

For updates, keep an eye on the Discover Frankston website and the Frankston Events Facebook page.

The Pines Forest Aquatic Centre will host a family Christmas pool party on Friday 17 December from 4pm to 7pm with fun including a free sausage sizzle, water games and a visit from a Santa!

Be sure to check the Pines Forest Aquatic Centre website for more information, coming soon.

Deputy Mayor Suzette Tayler said Frankston Arts Centre will host two Christmas shows in December.

Cr Tayler said: “The Very Merry Christmas Variety Special is one of the most popular shows of any Daytime Music + Theatre season. Featuring a stellar cast led by Chris McKenna as compere, along with music theatre star Ian Stenlake, tenor Roy Best, Michelle Fitzmaurice and featuring the amazing Frankston Ladies Choir – this show is just the ticket to get you into the Christmas spirit.”

Catch the show at Frankston Arts Centre on Friday, 3 December at 10.30am and 1.30pm.

Cr Tayler said the Queen of Carols, Silvie Paladino, will perform in a Christmas spectacular with the Melbourne Opera Orchestra and Chorus.

“What a great way to celebrate coming out of lockdown and the joy of Christmas with this concert full of all of your favourite carols and Christmas songs. After the year we had it's time to get back to live entertainment,” Cr Tayler said.

Catch the show at Frankston Arts Centre on Saturday, 4 December, at 7.30pm.

Cr Tayler added that the perfect way to support the arts is to buy tickets to shows in 2022 and help live entertainment get back on stage.

“Frankston Arts Centre also offers gift vouchers, which is just the ticket for all those family members who are keen to get back to the theatre and make lasting memories.”
