Youth Mayor Gerard Felipe
Phone: 1300 322 322
Frankston City has introduced its first Youth Mayor for 2018.
Our current Youth Mayor is Gerard Felipe.
Gerard has recently graduated from Frankston High School. He was a member of the Victorian Student Representative Council (VicSRC) and served on the Student Executive Board as its first Chairman from 2016 to 2017, representing their issues to the Deputy Premier and Education Minister James Merlino MP.
He is committed to addressing issues including youth disengagement, bullying and access to support.
About the Youth Mayor Role
- This initiative was introduced to provide a member of the community with exposure to local government processes and engagement with the public.
- This opportunity is offered to those aged between 18 and 21.
- Following this, the Youth Council will review all applications and depending on the amount received, short-list the applicants to three (3), who will then be asked to attend an interview.
- A decision on who the Youth Mayor will be is a resolution of Council and a report will be presented to Council at its meeting in February, under confidential.
