Frankston Youth Council

The Frankston Youth Council provides advice and suggestions to Frankston City Council on a range of issues and makes recommendations on services that may affect young people in the local community.

Frankston Youth Council organise the annual Frankston Stand for Change, an anti-bullying event that has reached thousands of young people for four successful years and counting.

Young people who participate in the Frankston Youth Council come from a range of different backgrounds and have many varied life experiences.

Nominations open for 2019 Youth Mayor

The 12 month voluntary position of Youth Mayor offers the chance to develop an interest in the local government, build leadership skills such as public speaking and advocate the interests of local youth to Council.

Working alongside Council and the local Youth Council, the Youth Mayor will attend Council events with the Mayor while addressing the needs and concerns of young people within Frankston City.

In their role as youth representatives, Youth Council members also consult with other young people in the community to ensure the diversity of young people, opinions and interests are considered by Council.
