Food Truck Square and Festival Dining
Always a highlight of the Festival and sure to please. Our food trucks will bring a variety of flavours to the Festival from across the globe. A detailed list of food trucks will be available closer to the festival.
Enjoy the colourful spectacular of the fireworks display on Saturday 16 at 9.45pm.
The Garden Bar
What better way to spend the day? Kick back on the grass, grab some bubbles, a brew or cider and soak up the sounds of some of Melbourne’s hottest live music acts as you watch the sun set over the Bay.
Always keep an eye out at the Waterfront Festival, you never know where one of our Festival entertainers might pop up. Be prepared to see some super human skills and if asked to join in the action make sure you do!
Get your groove on in the silent disco, smash some pins at Strike Bowling, or get down to nature with our marine touch tank.
Rides and Amusements
Thrill seekers and daredevils alike, be prepared to ride the night away. You will always know where the rides and amusements are, the sound of gleeful screams and laughter can be heard all weekend. Landmark Lawn and Lounge
Head to this area of the event if you would like a bit of relaxation, there will be a chill out lounge area with space to sprawl out and take in the entire festival.
The Waterfront Festival Market
The Waterfront Festival Market takes over the McCoombes Reserve and Craft Markets Australia will make sure you do not go empty handed. Featuring the finest in handmade crafts from all around the state. The market will operate from 11am-6pm both days.
Art, Craft and Creations
The Peninsula Arts Society will be located at the Mechanics Hall on Plowman Place, Frankston (on the hill opposite the festival site on Nepean Highway). There will be free entry with the art and craft show open from 10am-6pm, featuring paintings, textile art, embroidery and lots more.
The Beach and Beyond
The Beach will be open from 11am-6pm daily. There is plenty to see and do with our Beach and Beyond activities, from water sports and activities to fun in the sand -so don’t forget your bathers. Try your hand at an activity you haven’t tried before like snorkelling, stand up paddle boarding, sailing or scuba diving.
Getting to the Festival
The Waterfront Festival is an accessible event

- Pram and wheelchair accessible pathways
- Accessible parking around the City centre and the event is accessible by Public Transport
- There are a limited number of accessible car parking spaces in the Southern car park (near Sofia’s Restaurant), along Nepean Highway and in Davey Street. A drop off zone is located in the Service Lane near Davey’s Bar and Bistro.
The boat launching ramp and car park along with the Pier Promenade car park and Waterfront playground will be closed to all traffic and permit holders from 12:30am on Friday 15 February, until 2am on Monday 18 February. Alternative boat launching facilities are available at Oliver’s Hill.
There will be no parking available at the Waterfront and parking will be limited in the immediate surrounding area.
It is recommended that event patrons park at Bayside Shopping Centre’s Entertainment Complex, Frankston Arts Centre, Plowman Place, Frankston Civic Centre, High Street, Davey Street, Nepean Highway (southbound) and Wells Street, all of which are a 5-10 minute walk to the festival. Fees and restrictions may apply. We also suggest Public Transport if possible.
Traffic will be unable to turn right at the lights into Pier Promenade from Nepean Highway (southbound). Traffic travelling along Nepean Highway between Davey Street and Liddesdale Avenue (north and south bound) will be slowed to 40Km p/h.
Visit the Public Transport Victoria website for timetables and to plan your journey. From Frankston Station take the 772 bus to Pier Promenade, Frankston. Alternatively, catch a taxi or Uber from the train station (approx. 1.3km).
