Neighbourhood character guidelines
Planning applicants should refer to our Neighbourhood Character Guidelines when preparing their residential development or subdivision proposal, to ensure it respects and enhances the look and feel that our residents prefer for their area.
The guidelines describe the current and preferred style of each part of the city, and recommended style for the design of new houses and extensions. We use these guidelines to assess planning applications, and applications for a report and consent to vary the Building Regulations.
You should read the guidelines for each area alongside Clause 22.08 of the Frankston Planning Scheme. If there is any inconsistency between the information in the two documents, the Frankston Planning Scheme takes precedence over the guidelines.
