Frankston Integrated Housing Strategy

The population of Frankston is changing. While Council cannot directly control population growth and housing delivery it has a clear role to play in influencing and planning for the changing needs of our current and future residents.

The Frankston Integrated Housing Strategy (FIHS) will provide a twenty year plan to manage housing growth and change across all residential areas and Activity Centres in the municipality.

The FIHS will define where, at what rate and how future housing will be developed throughout the municipality in order to accommodate current and future residents in dwellings that are affordable, fit for purpose, enhance the quality of residential amenity and safeguard neighbourhood character across the municipality’s different suburbs. The FIHS will supersede the existing Frankston Housing Strategy (2013) and result in one, integrated document.

Further information about this project will be made available here shortly.
