Frankston City Council recognises the value of our heritage and the significant contribution that it pays to the wider community. The Council has over 70 heritage listed properties which, contribute to the character and identity of the neighbourhoods in which they are located. The places, buildings trees or objects are subject to a Heritage Overlay and are consider to be the finest example of their type in Frankston City.

The buildings and places of heritage significance are important to Frankston, as they link us to the past and tell the story of the area. The sites may have historical, architectural, social, cultural or scientific significance. It is vital that places of heritage significance are conserved or enhanced to preserve heritage within the municipality.
