Community Vision 2040

We are developing a community vision to capture the community’s priorities and aspirations to help shape the future of Frankston City

Whether you live or work in Frankston City, or study or visit here, we want to hear from you. The Community Vision provides you with an opportunity to share your aspirations to influence the future of Frankston City over the next 20 years to 2040.

What is a Community Vision?

A Community Vision captures what the community values most about their community and sets out their key priorities and aspirations for the future. Once developed, the Community Vision will form part of Council’s strategic planning framework, ensuring that the community’s vision for the future of Frankston City is considered in Council’s strategic planning and decision making.

What's your vision for Frankston City area and Community by 2040?

Stage 1: August–September 2020

We reached out during August and September to those who live, work, study and visit Frankston City, asking what you value, hope won’t change, what could be improved, and what you wish for Frankston City and community in 2040. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback, it has been invaluable to the Community Vision process.

Stage 2: November 2020 to February 2021

We have established a 45 member Community Panel, bringing together diverse members of our community to imagine and plan our shared future. An independent consultant selected the panel and has ensured they accurately represent our community. These community members are reviewing the findings from the first stage of engagement and developing the new Community Vision 2040 and contributing to the Council Plan 2021–2025.

The panel will meet six times over three months and will hear from a range of expert speakers to help them determine a pathway towards Frankston City's future.

We now want to continue the conversation and hear from you what Council can do over the next four years to provide more opportunities for people to enjoy good health and wellbeing, such as exercising more, eating healthily and connecting with others in our community.

Complete the survey and go in a prize draw* to WIN a $100 Coles voucher or one of 15 drink vouchers valued at $5 to either Two Boys and One Beagle Café, Nature Café and Down the Street Café.

What will the Community Vision be used for?

The Community Vision will ensure that the community’s priorities and aspirations for the future are considered in Council’s strategic planning and decision making processes. In particular, the vision will help to shape the strategic priorities and directions in the four-year Council Plan to be established at the start of each Council term.

The Community Vision also ensures Council continues to work towards the same overarching vision with our existing partnerships with organisations and sectors in the community, such as not-for-profits, service organisations and local businesses.

How will the Community Vision be developed?

There are five stages of engagement for the development of the Community Vision for Frankston City 2040. This process will also be used to guide the development of the Council Plan 2021-2025.
