What will the Community Vision be used for?
The Community Vision will ensure that the community’s priorities and aspirations for the future are considered in Council’s strategic planning and decision making processes. In particular, the vision will help to shape the strategic priorities and directions in the four-year Council Plan to be established at the start of each Council term.
The Community Vision also ensures Council continues to work towards the same overarching vision with our existing partnerships with organisations and sectors in the community, such as not-for-profits, service organisations and local businesses.
How will the Community Vision be developed?
There are five stages of engagement for the development of the Community Vision for Frankston City 2040. This process will also be used to guide the development of the Council Plan 2021-2025.
Stage 1: August - September 2020
We will be reaching out to as many people as possible who live, work, study and visit Frankston City, asking what your value, hope won’t change, what could be improved, and what you wish for Frankston City and community in 2040.
Stage 2: November 2020
We will be establishing our Community Panel, bringing together diverse members of our community to imagine and plan our shared future. We will be seeking expressions of interest, and an independent consultant will select panel members who represent the broad community. These community members will review the findings from the first stage of engagement and develop the new Community Vision 2040.
Stage 3: November - Christmas 2020
We once again will be reaching to the community to delve deeper into the community’s priorities for the future, to help shape the development of the Council Plan 2021-2025.
Stage 4: Early 2021
The Community Panel will reconvene to consider the community’s feedback and make recommendations for the new Council Plan 2021-2025.
Stage 5: March 2021
