Smoke Free Outdoor Areas
Frankston City Council is committed to creating a healthy environment for everyone and reducing the damaging effects of second-hand smoke.
Council signs indicate the 'Smoke Free' areas. Offenders may be issued with a $200 Frankston Council Penalty Notice for breaching Community Local Law 2020 3.18.
Further penalties may apply through the Magistrate's Court up to $2000 if the Penalty Notice is not paid.
Support to manage or quit smoking is available at any time through the Quitline on 13 7848 (13 QUIT).
Ban on Outdoor Dining Areas
From the 1 August 2017, smoking will be banned in all outdoor dining areas across the state. This ban extends to all forms of smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes and shisha tobacco.
Outdoor ‘drinking areas’ will be excepted, but they must comply with a number of conditions.
Food fairs and outdoor event operators must also comply with the new Victorian Government laws.
