Funding is available to assist grassroots community groups who have a pressing need for support. This funding is for a broad range of items to meet the needs of the organisation (e.g. equipment, rent, utility bills, training, materials etc.) and respond to the immediate needs of the community arising from the impact of COVID-19. Generally, this grant would be applied for when specific needs emerge with such urgency and that the applicant is not able to apply for the COVID-19 Recovery Grant.
Please note: Successful applicants will be expected to invoice Council, spend, and acquit their funding by 30 June 2022.
COVID-19 Recovery Grants

One-off funding to provide assistance to community groups for support or relief in response to a community need related to the impact of COVID-19.
This funding is for a broad range of items to meet the needs of the organisation (e.g. equipment, rent, utility bills, training, materials etc.) and/or to enable the organisation to respond quickly to the immediate needs of the community arising from the impact of COVID-19 (i.e. supply of food, mental health support, health and well-being initiatives, equipment and community connectedness).
Major Local Community Events Grant
The Major Local Community Events Grant closed on Friday 20 August.
The grant provides funding to support locally initiated events that significantly benefit Frankston City residents and build local capacity for participation in, celebratory, cultural and artistic activities. The events funded will primarily attract local audiences, which enhance the quality of life of residents; celebrate local identity and culture; and provide a range of community benefits including participation, wellbeing and community connections.

Tourism Event Attraction Grants
The Tourism Event Attraction Program has been designed to attract events that drive economic returns outside of the event and give both visitors and residents year-round reasons to seek out and experience our City’s urban bayside location.
Applications for the 2021-2022 Program open Wednesday 4 August and close at 4pm on Friday 3 September 2021.
To date, the program has supported the delivery of 20 events over four years. These events have attracted over 200,000 people and have contributed an additional $35.157 million into the local economy.
Frankston Charitable Fund Grants
The Frankston Charitable Fund was established as a charitable fund account of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation in 2009.
The fund aims to build capital and generate interest and dividends that provide funding to support the work of Frankston charities through a grants program. The fund capital is preserved in perpetuity and is invested and professionally managed by the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation. The money that is donated today will stay in the Frankston Charitable Fund corpus forever.
All applicants will be advised in writing of the outcome of their application. All successful applicants will be required to enter into a funding agreement and submit an acquittal form within 12 months of receiving the grant.

Frankston City Council has adopted the Greening our Future Environment Strategy (2014-2024) and through the Environmental Sustainability Grant program, funding of up to $1,000 is available to support community groups and organisations with environmental and sustainability projects that align with the four key themes of the Strategy:
1. Protecting and enhancing natural assets
2. Wise use of natural resources
3. Minimising environmental impacts
4. Educating and engaging the community
Application must contribute to positive environmental outcomes (themes 1, 2 and 3) and must include community education and engagement (theme 4) as part of the activity, program or project.
Environmental Sustainability Grants are open to not-for-profit, incorporated community groups and organisations (or those auspiced by a group that is incorporated). Please note they are not available for schools, businesses or individuals.
