Jobs Victoria Advocates Frankston
About the Program
Frankston City Council is working with the Victorian Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions to deliver the State Government’s $41.4 million Jobs Victoria Advocates program in Frankston.
Frankston City Council has employed three Jobs Victoria Advocates who will be working throughout the Frankston community, to offer practical, face to face support to job seekers, people seeking a career change, or advice for training pathways.
The program will help people to navigate employment and training services via proactive outreach, connecting with people in libraries, community centres, public housing foyers, shopping centres, other public spaces.
While Jobs Victoria Advocates hold specialist knowledge about the employment and training systems, they also understand that people dealing with unemployment may need the support of other services.
The program will guide people on where they can go to seek this additional help, playing an important system navigation role for vulnerable people in the Frankston community.

The Jobs Victoria Advocates will also work with the Frankston City Job Seeker Alliance, made up of a diverse range of key organisations, dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for job seekers. The Alliance was formed in 2021 with funding from Frankston City’s $7.038 million Relief and Recovery Package. The Alliance members are working to identify and fix gaps in the system that block job seekers from finding suitable opportunities.
