Home Based Businesses
Frankston City has many businesses based in or operating from the proprietor's residence. These enterprises range from graphic designers and business services to remedial massage suites and hair salons.
Frankston City Council encourages new business creation in the municipality, however business owners/operators must meet certain requirements as to not impact on the safety and enjoyment of other residents.
If you are considering starting a business from home it is recommended that you download the checklist below and contact the Planning Department or the Economic Development Department to ensure that you are complying with the various obligations for home-based businesses.
Home-based businesses are still obligated to obtain licences if they are working with Food or Health, Wellbeing and Accomodation. For a full list of licences your business may require visit the ABLIS Australian Business Licensing and Information Service Website.
