Frankston City Council is always committed to the safety of its patrons and is taking necessary precautionary measures to help combat the spread of Coronavirus and this includes postponing large gatherings or changing events to virtual.

Council is looking forward to re-adopting postponed events, workshops, services and seminars in the near future and establishing new business programs so we can continue to provide an environment that encourages vibrant and resilient small businesses as part of Council’s Economic Development Strategy 2016-2022.

Here are some events, classes and workshops you can access now:

Business Leaders Live (virtual events)

Have you checked out our Facebook page? You’ll find a number of highly informative video conversations/presentations between business and industry experts. These Business Leaders Live collections were filmed live and recorded for you to watch in your spare time. From futuristic presentations on how to move forward post COVID and discussions about our strong economy, to how to include diversity in your workplace and how to access skilled workers, there’s something for every business owner.

Classes

Free online training with Lynda.com (LinkedIn Learning)

Tap into thousands of free course videos, documentaries and software training to assist you to further develop your business or improve job prospects.
Courses are run by industry experts who are passionate about teaching.

To access Lynda.com you just need a Frankston City library card which you can get online at library.frankston.vic.gov.au.

These courses can be done at any time on your computer or mobile device and can be paused, bookmarked, and added to a playlist. Options are also there to create your own career pathway on Lynda.

At the end of the course, certificates are issued and can be linked to your LinkedIn account.

B.I.T.E Business Conference (date TBC)

Due to COVID-19 the 2020 BITE Business Conference, earmarked to held at Frankston Arts Centre, was postponed. With support from Frankston City Council, the 2021 event is being planned with world class speakers set to head the conference and is expected to go ahead mid-year, pending it is within COVID-19 restrictions. Stay tuned for the latest news about this event at biteconference.com.au.

Workshops

Mumpreneur Workshops

You can book now to join our popular Mumpreneur Workshops! 

Suitable for mums (or dads) keen to start your own business or gain more knowledge to help your existing business grow. 

The six week workshop series will be held every Wednesday from 10am to 12pm starting April 21 (after the school holidays) at the Lyrebird Community Centre in Carrum Downs.

From ATO advice and finance, to business smarts, branding, marketing and more, you can learn the business basics you need to get your dream started. Children are welcome.

Places are limited.  

The workshops are as follows;
