Undocumented Heritage Places

The total number of potential heritage places identified in this study (see Heritage Places Schedule, Appendix 1) is over 107 of which only 20 have been documented, with a priority for those of potential State or Regional significance. This has meant that places that have only Local heritage value have been largely neglected.

This study sets out a methodology and information sources which could be used by community groups or individuals to document these places and continue to gather information about those already documented in this report. The City should coordinate and assist any efforts of this kind. Oral history work in the community can focus on these places and historical themes to guide interviewees.
