Planning and Environment Act 1987 (State Government)
State Heritage Planning Objectives
This act makes planning authorities such as the Frankston City responsible for conservation and enhancement of buildings, areas or other places which are of scientific, aesthetic, architectural or historical interest or otherwise of cultural value { Planning and Environment Act (1987): 3 (cl.4(d))}. Planning authorities have set out to meet these requirements, often by placing a planning permit requirement on any work associated with important places to allow the authority to aid or guide any interested property owner.
