Listed here are significant collections at the Victorian Public Records Office. Lands Department; correspondence and files under various closer settlement and land selection Acts. Most relevant appear to be series (5357) includes correspondence up to the 1980s; (1262) selectors under the 1862 Act (831) applications under the important sec. 42, of 1862;.(130) index to selections, section 42 and the act of 1869; district selection files (sec. 19 and 20, Land Act 1869); (439) sec. 49, Act 1869 with index; (625) sec. 19 and 20 Act 1869; (627) sec. 31, act 1869 with index; all of these earlier acts may have had only marginal influence in shaping the character of Frankston. All held at the Victorian Public Records Office (VPRO).

Primary school correspondence files and building files registered separately in PRO 3.8.1 and 3.19.1. Useful for individual schools in the municipality. Held at the VPRO.
