How to Pay my Rates

Online

Frankston City Council Online Payments

Pay direct to Frankston City Council via the following our online payments page. You will need your assessment number (printed on your rate notice), the amount you wish to pay and your credit card details.

 BPay logo BPAY: Billing Code: 1966

Make payments from your savings, cheque or credit card account by phone or internet banking. You will need to quote the Biller Code (1966) and your BPAY Reference Number, as indicated on your rate notice.  

Australia Post Australia Post Billpay: Billing Code 0760

Post Billpay makes it easy to pay bills quickly and securely. Visit Post Billpay website (Australia Post) or phone 13 18 16  to pay with your MasterCard, Visa or American Express.

BPay View BPAY View: Billing Code 1966

To use BPAY View, you will need to be registered for internet banking with your financial institution.

Bring your rate notice to any Australia Post Office or Council Customer Service Centre:

Post cheques and money orders (made payable to Frankston City Council), including your barcoded remittance slip (bottom of annual rate notice) to:

Please note that the Locked Bag address is for rate payments only.

Phone by Credit Card

Phone 1300 721 138 to pay by MasterCard or Visa. A push button phone is required for this service. Please have your credit card details ready, together with the reference number shown on your notice and the amount to pay.

Direct Debit

Property owners can choose one of two payment options by direct debit:
1. Four instalments
2. Nine instalments - apply by 16 September 2016

Applications received less than a week before an instalment due date will not be processed in time and you will need to make a separate payment to Council for that instalment.

If you already have a direct debit agreement with Council to pay your rates, this arrangement will continue, unless you have dishonoured your agreement or advised Council in writing that you wish it to discontinue.

Once your direct debit application has been processed you will receive written confirmation by either post or email.

Due Dates for Payment

Financial Hardship

If you are unable to pay your rates and charges within the required timeframe/s, please contact Council immediately to discuss a suitable payment arrangement, otherwise legal fees may apply. Alternatively you can download an Arrangement to Pay (ATP) form via the related documents section of this page.

Applications for Financial Hardship assistance must be provided in writing, along with supporting evidence of hardship.

Unpaid Rates and Charges: Interest Charged

The interest rate charged on all overdue rates and charges is fixed under the Penalty Interest Rates Act 1983 the rate that will apply for the 2016-2017 year is 9.5% per annum.
