If you’ve ever wanted to get to know your neighbours better but haven’t had the opportunity, Neighbour Day is here to help.
Frankston City Council is encouraging residents to participate in Neighbour Day on Sunday 25 March by hosting a street barbecue, picnic in the park, community event or even just a cuppa.
“We encourage all residents to get to know their neighbours. If you don't know the person who lives next door or across the street, this is the chance to make a special effort to introduce yourself,” said Frankston City Mayor Colin Hampton.
Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community that encourages people to connect with those who live nearby, promoting a welcoming, supportive and safe community.
Frankston City residents who want to get to know their neighbours by hosting a street barbecue could win a $100 BBQ pack, which includes:
- Meat Tray
- Veggie Burgers
- Loaves of bread
- Tomato sauce, mustard, BBQ sauce
- Voucher for gas bottle refill.
To be in the running to win a BBQ pack, complete the application form online at frankston.vic.gov.au. Applications close 4pm on Wednesday 14 March 2018.
“Why not celebrate this year’s Neighbour Day to win yourself a BBQ pack. All you need to do is gather your neighbours.”
