Council is rewarding responsible pet owners

Friday 17 March 2017

Pet owners spotted doing the right thing by their pet and their city may receive an on-the-spot reward by a Council officer over coming weeks.

Council has some passes to Sand Sculpting’s Lands of Imagination exhibition at Frankston Waterfront to giveaway to some lucky locals spotted being responsible pet owners such as:

  • Walking their dog on a lead
  • Picking up after their dog
  • Being in control of their dog in an off-leash area
  • Keeping cats confined to your property
  • Carrying bags for dog waste and displaying registration tag

While dogs are allowed back at all hours on Frankston and Seaford beaches from 1 April – they must be on a lead at all times to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all during their beach visit.

Pet registration renewals have been issued and are due in Victoria by Monday 10 April.

Unfortunately, Council receives multiple complaints about pet owners doing the wrong thing when most owners strive to do the right thing by their pet and their community.

In this case, being a ‘top dog’ or a ‘top cat’ owner may reap the rewards.
