Join Council’s Heritage Assets and Promotion Committee

Frankston City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from members of the community to join the Heritage Assets and Promotion Committee.

About the Committee

The Committee’s primary purpose is to provide Council with guidance on matters relating to Frankston’s history and heritage. This includes:

  • Identifying places with potential cultural heritage or archaeological significance and providing advice regarding their conservation and management;
  • Providing advice to Council on cultural heritage contemporary practices;
  • Directing public consultation and engagement to promote heritage matters;
  • Advising on priorities, issues, and potential sources of funding; and
  • Providing commentary as requested in relation to selected projects.

The Committee is not a forum for approval or otherwise of projects, but rather provides commentary and advice to Council which is the appropriate forum for procedural decisions.

About the Meetings

The Committee typically meets on a monthly basis, subject to the matters requiring attention. Meetings generally run for one to two hours.

Meetings are held after hours during the week. The day of the meeting is subject to Committee member availability but is generally held on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
